House of Night

house or nightA series by P.C. Cast and Kristen Cast. The House of Night follows the life of Zoey Redbird, a typical teenager. The only difference between our world and her world is that Vampires are the norm. Special Tracker vampires mark potential humans to enter the House of Night, a school where they will undergo the change into a vampire.

Zoey was marked and now she must go to the House of Night to become a vampire. She feels this mark is a blessing as she never really fit in with her human friends. But she soon learns that she doesn’t really fit in with the vampires either. Her mark is special, given to the Goddess Nyx and everyone knows it.

This series is deep rooted in old pagan mythology, cherokee images and ancient history. The series has 6 books with a new one out. You will definitely enjoy the adventures of Zoey and all the vamps in the House of Night.

John enlists in the army as a last resort and in doing so finds his true love Savannah. Savannah waits patiently for John to come back from tour. When 9/11 hits, John feels the need to serve his county, leaving Savannah. The story moves on when Savannah finds a new love and marries. But John still has feelings for Savannah. What will happen? Will it be like “The Notebook” or not? You must read to find out.

Whitney Gaskell – Pushing 30

Pushing 30, by Whitney Gaskell, is her debut novel that embodies chick lit culture. This novel is about a May-December romance between an approaching 30 lawyer and a very famous 52 year old newscaster. When the newscaster finds out the age of the lawyer he swears to never date such a young women. He doesn’t want to be confused with those that date young during a mid-life crisis. All seems like this is the end of their budding relationship, but alas, it is not.

The book is humorous, witty and a page turner in every manner. Add another author to your chick lit books. Whitney Gaskell has many books to date and Pushing 30 is just as great as all her others. If you get a chance, take a look at this funny book.
